“After speaking and listening with lots of riders over the last week WOR have made a decision to scrap the new “deposit on entries” system.
Proving that we are big enough to listen and learn and taking on board lots of valid comments from regular competitors, the outcome is that with immediate effect we will return to the old system of online entries and phone entries with NO need to place a £20 deposit over the net.
It is fair to say that some people even in this day and age do not have access to the internet and therefore would struggle to enter the events via the new system.
Then to charge a further admin fee on the day would also be unfair. (To non booked in riders) WOR has always prided itself on making things easy for the riders and providing quality off road events without loads of red tape and entry complications.
Accepting late entries and giving the rider less stress is a very important part in providing good customer service and returning to the simple format of call/e mail to enter will ensure that WOR does not lose track of what makes it so popular in the first place.
The main reason that the deposit system was introduced was to try and combat the amount of riders that booked in and then simply did not turn up for whatever reason, bad weather, ill, broken bike etc….So in order to try and police this problem in future a fine system will now be introduced and a record will be kept of all riders that book in and fail to turn up.
Once a rider has committed this terrible crime (ha ha) 3 times he/she will be fined £50 and will not be able to enter until the fine has been paid.
This will hopefully stop the big numbers of riders that book in just incase they wish to ride, then don't show up but take a genuine riders entry.
So its business as usual now, you can enter easy as ABC.
Simply enter from the website or call Ian on 07944378432 between 9:00 - 6:00.
We hope this appeases the situation and look forward to a great summers racing.”
