It's a DOUBLE SAMMY!!! ( Whammy --Se what we did there ??)
Coney Green was set up to an impeccable standard by WOR Events last Sunday ..with many Coney Green Farm regulars over the last 20 odd years that said it was THE BEST TRACK yet to be set up at the venue..BIG PRAISE INDEED... but just another standard that this Organisation set as a standard rule.. Quality for the rider. Always.
The 3 hr Team Extreme is now considered an EPIC / ICONIC / CLASSIC as it has eveolved as an event since the first one 9 years ago in 2015..The first 5 events where set in a wet welsh forest but the last 4 years the event moved to Coney Green and its just a perfect natural home for the event with both Riders and Spectators getting a treat ....Easy to watch at ...tough but fun to ride .. challenging and very entertaining ..All in all a great Event.
In reality, The Team Extreme is just a proper OLD SCHOOL Hare N Hounds , Just like Steve Ireland and his Team where producing nearly 3 decades ago, but things have got softer in the sport and these events are now branded with a title of Extreme or Toughness.. Great in a way because its made two routes of clients and riders .."Normal" Hare N Hounds and then the folks that want that Old school challenge ... Either way great for the riders ..
The top team and by far the fastest two riders on the track was the formidable Duo of Enduro GP riders, fresh from a ISDE... The two Sam's.. Hughes and Davies .. and what a team they where ...30 laps between them ... 3 laps clear of their nearest team .. Smooth, Neat, Quick as hell and most of all making it look easy in the Tougher Bits...
Another Team That deserves a Special Shout out was the FEMALE ENDURO DUO of ZOE ZEMBRUSKI / LIBBY TETT...Dressed in Santa suits on the start line.. The ladies went on to podium their class and show a massive Plus for Girl Power with their HIGH STANDARD of riding that is inspiring for all the young girls watching ... A big up as well to the other Females that took to the start laine and the challenge..
The whole entry list deserve a pat on the back for riding the event and putting in a smashing effort ...There were some fantastic stand out rides from Solos and teams alike and Steve will pick them out in the Race Wrap up Video on Social Media later this week.
